Our In-Line Inspection tools are smart caliper pigging tools, or "smart pigs", utilizing direct wall contact geometric sensor systems designed to accurately convey the internal geometry of underground utility pipes with an operational range of 4in ID to 48in ID.

Our smart pigs are collapsible to 35% of the pipeline ID and identify pipeline internal deformations and anomalies. They also mark each weld, flange, future, and any other pipeline components throughout the line. We offer QA/QC of full pipelines or pipe sections providing detailed reports, GIS data, and internal 3D models.

During the data acquisition process, we communicate with the contracting party to get a baseline of what is being looked for. Whether we are gathering a components inventory of the line or looking for a specific problem in the pipe, we always want to gather as much information as possible to use in conjunction with our tool. Once we know what we are after, appropriate head pressure is achieved and our smart pig is installed into the launcher and blown through the line using compressors. Thanks to the advance composition of our cups, we are able to utilize lower head pressures and differential pressures across the line compared to industry standards saving valuable time during the process. When the tool reaches the receiver, the line is blown down and our tool is removed from the line.

Once the testing process is completed, we are able to verify that the data from the run is clean and can be used to provide an accurate depiction of the line. Now, our engineers can process the data and provide a full representation of the line.

When our results are submitted, they provide a Full Registry List of footage, location around the diameter, thickness, and width of each pipeline feature. If any anomalies, ovalities, dents, or deformations are present in the line, we also provide Dig Sheet Reports with drawings and further details of the feature. This information can also be represented in 3D (GPS) space through optional use of IMU units in the tool. This information allows Pipeline Owners and Construction Teams to confirm the status of the line and assure that the line is suitable for activation or continued use. If there are any areas of concern found in the pipeline, this information allows these areas to be pinpointed, located, and fixed.
